08/11/08 Stoodley Pike, Todmorden. Altitude 385m Whilst hosting a Mountain Rescue Casualty Care study day, CVSRT were called out to assist an injured fell runner. The casualty had been competing in the Shepherd's Skyline fell race when he dislocated his knee. Team members were on scene rapidly, providing shelter and medical treatment. The injured runner was then carried on a Bell stretcher to Withens Gate where he was transferred to one of our specialist Landrover ambulances
Congratulations to our latest new intake. The Probationary members completed a long day of exercises testing all the skills they have been taught this year. They are now on the callout list and are looking forward to their first job, whatever time of day or night that may be.
Congratulations to Cap and Dave for passing their Stage 2 test on the August SARDA course on Dartmoor. Well done Dave, it's well deserved after much hard work. And a pat on the head and a bone for Cap.
Earlier on in the year, another of the team's youngest members, Pepper the search dog, became fully graded and hence is able to work on callouts. See more...
